VisitJack Draper Wins Erste Bank Open for First ATP 500 Title, Defeats Khachanov 6-4, 7-5
Oct 27, 2024, 11:45 AM
22-year-old Jack Draper has won his first ATP 500 title at the Erste Bank Open in Vienna, defeating Karen Khachanov 6-4, 7-5 in the final. This victory marks Draper's biggest career title and his second ATP title overall. Draper, who is projected to rise to a career-high ranking of #15, showcased an impressive level of play throughout the tournament. Khachanov, who had an eight-match winning streak and was aiming for his second consecutive title, was unable to overcome Draper's performance. Draper becomes the first man to win the Vienna Open on his debut since Andy Murray achieved the feat ten years ago. This was Draper's third final of 2024. Notably, Draper dealt with an aggressive fan during the final before securing his victory.
