Israeli military forces have fired at multiple UNIFIL positions in southern Lebanon, resulting in injuries to UN peacekeepers. According to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), Israeli tanks struck a watchtower at the UN headquarters in Naqoura, injuring two Sri Lankan peacekeepers who suffered serious shrapnel injuries and were hospitalized. The UN also reported that Israeli forces deliberately targeted and disabled UN security cameras. The attacks occurred for the second time in 48 hours amidst ongoing clashes between Israeli forces and Hezbollah. The Israeli military stated that it had instructed UN forces to remain in protected spaces before the incident.
