The incident reportedly occurred last Friday and prompted swift action from the Israeli Navy and Air Force, although the drone was not located. Israeli naval forces had reported a possible drone sighting off the Mediterranean coast near Caesarea, raising concerns about a potential surveillance attempt targeting Netanyahu's nearby beach house. Netanyahu was not at home during the incident, and he has denied that the drone was near his residence. Israel Hayom reported the drone belonged to Hezbollah.
