Jul 13, 2024, 10:47 AM
Israeli airstrikes on July 13 targeted Mohammed Deif, the head of Hamas's military wing and mastermind of the October 7 attack, in the southern Gaza Strip. The strike, which occurred in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, also aimed at Rafa’a Salameh, the commander of Hamas’s Khan Yunis Brigade. According to the Hamas-run Health Ministry, the attack resulted in at least 71 Palestinian deaths and 290 injuries. Israeli officials report a 'high probability' that Deif was either eliminated or critically injured. The strike has not yet been officially confirmed as successful in eliminating Deif.
