Israeli airstrikes in Beirut have killed Ibrahim Aqil, also known as Tahsin, a senior Hezbollah commander. Aqil, who was the head of Hezbollah's Special Operations and commander of the elite Radwan Force, was targeted in the southern suburbs of Beirut. He was also the second-in-command of Hezbollah’s military forces and a member of Hezbollah's top military body, the Jihad Council. Aqil was wanted by the United States for his involvement in the 1983 bombings of the U.S. Embassy and Marine Barracks in Beirut. Reports indicate that Aqil was meeting with other senior Hezbollah members at the time of the strike, and multiple sources confirm his death.
