VisitIsraeli Airstrikes Hit Mezzeh Air Base, Daraa, and Suwayda in Syria
Dec 8, 2024, 11:25 AM
Israeli airstrikes have targeted multiple locations in Syria, including the Mezzeh Air Base in Damascus and weapon depots in the southern regions of Daraa and Suwayda. According to Reuters, citing two security sources, explosions were heard in the Mazzeh area of Damascus. The strikes reportedly destroyed a strategic arms depot at Mezzeh Air Base, which housed key weapons for the Syrian Armed Forces. Additional targets included ammunition and weapons depots at the Khalkhalah Airbase in southern Syria, as well as weapon depots in Tal Hamad and Tal al Thaalib in Daraa. The Israeli Air Force also targeted air defense systems at Mezzeh Air Base. These strikes are part of a broader pattern of Israeli military actions in Syria, aimed at preventing the transfer of advanced weapons to Hezbollah and other groups.
