VisitIsraeli Airstrike Kills Hezbollah Commander Habib Maatouk, Five Others in Southern Lebanon
Jul 18, 2024, 07:36 PM
An Israeli airstrike targeted and killed a senior commander in Hezbollah's elite Radwan forces in southern Lebanon. The commander, identified as Habib Maatouk, was eliminated in the town of Jmaijmeh. Maatouk had recently replaced Abbas Jaafar, another senior Radwan forces commander killed by Israel in April. Reports indicate that the strike also resulted in the deaths of five other members of Hezbollah, including local commander Ali Jaafar Maatouk. The information was confirmed by two security sources. The strike marks a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
