An Israeli airstrike overnight targeted an eight-story building in the Al-Basta area of central Beirut, Lebanon, reportedly aiming at a high-ranking Hezbollah official. According to Israeli media and sources such as Al Arabiya and Sky News Arabia, the target was either Talal Hamiyah, head of Hezbollah's External Security Office known as Unit 910 and among the group's first generation who joined in the mid-1980s, or Muhammad Haidar, Hezbollah's new chief of staff and head of operations. The strike reportedly utilized at least five bunker buster bombs. The attack resulted in at least four deaths and 23 injuries. The identity of the targeted official has not been independently confirmed.
