VisitIsraeli Airstrike at 4 A.M. in Beirut Targets Hezbollah's Muhammad Haydar, Killing 11
Nov 23, 2024, 08:10 AM
An Israeli airstrike struck central Beirut at 4 a.m. on Saturday, targeting a residential building in the Basta neighborhood. The attack leveled an eight-story building using bunker-buster bombs, resulting in at least 11 deaths and injuring 63 people, according to Lebanon's Health Ministry. The strike is believed to have targeted Muhammad Haydar, a senior Hezbollah official, head of operations, and one of the last remaining members of the group's Executive Council. Haydar's fate is currently unknown. Rescue teams are working to recover victims from the rubble, and the death toll may rise. Hezbollah has previously vowed to fire missiles at Tel Aviv if Beirut is attacked.
