Israeli Air Force Intercepts Kamikaze UAV from Iraq Over Ashkelon

The Israel Defense Force (IDF) confirmed that an unknown kamikaze UAV was intercepted by the Israeli Air Force over the city of Ashkelon in Southern Israel. Multiple interceptors were launched in response to a drone alert. An Israeli aircraft, either an F-15 or F-16, was seen launching an air-to-air missile at the drone. Footage reportedly shows an Israeli F-15 intercepting the drone, which was sent from Iraq. Iraqi militias have claimed responsibility for firing the UAV. The IDF stated that the UAV posed a threat but did not manage to cross into Israeli airspace. The interception was successful.
