Israel Unanimously Votes to Immediately Shut Down Al Jazeera

The Israeli government has officially decided to shut down the operations of the Qatari-based news network Al Jazeera within its borders, effective immediately. This decision, which includes the cessation of both Arabic and English broadcasts, was unanimously approved by the cabinet following a proposal by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi. The closure encompasses Al Jazeera's broadcasting equipment, offices, and associated websites in Israel. The move follows accusations against Al Jazeera of spreading misinformation and supporting extremist views. The decision requires recertification every 45 days.
