The Israeli military, in coordination with the United States and the Defense Ministry's Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), has opened a new humanitarian aid crossing named Western Erez Crossing in the northern Gaza Strip. Located in the Zikim area, the crossing was constructed by IDF engineering units and aims to enhance aid delivery routes into Gaza, particularly the north. On its opening day, dozens of trucks loaded with humanitarian supplies, including flour, were dispatched from the Port of Ashdod to the World Food Programme in Gaza.
