Israel's Shin Bet security agency has announced that it successfully foiled a mass casualty suicide bombing planned by Hamas. The attack was orchestrated from the West Bank under the direction of Hamas operatives based in Turkey. The plot, which aimed to carry out a mass casualty attack in Israel, was thwarted on March 15, although details were only recently allowed to be published. The operation involved collaboration between Shin Bet and Yamam, Israel's elite counter-terrorism unit.
