VisitIsrael Launches Airstrikes on Yemen's Houthis During Leader's Speech; Sana'a Airport, Port Hit
Dec 26, 2024, 02:01 PM
Israel has launched extensive airstrikes across Yemen, targeting Houthi-controlled sites including Sana'a International Airport, Al-Hodeidah Port, and energy infrastructure. The strikes occurred during a speech by Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi. Israeli military sources, cited by Israeli media, confirmed the attacks, stating that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are expanding their target lists and initiating a new campaign against the Houthis. Reports indicate that over 100 Israeli aircraft were involved in the operation, which targeted key infrastructure such as the control tower at Sana'a Airport, a civilian aircraft on the runway, power stations, oil facilities, military, and government buildings. The airstrikes are reportedly in response to recent drone and missile attacks by the Houthis against Israel. Israeli officials stated that the United States was notified of the attacks.
