Aug 21, 2024, 11:21 AM
Israel has conducted an airstrike in southern Lebanon, resulting in the assassination of Khalil al-Mekdah, a member of the Fatah movement. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the strike near the coastal city of Sidon, which targeted al-Mekdah's vehicle. Khalil al-Mekdah was the brother of senior Fatah official Munir Makdah, who has been accused by Israel of collaborating with Hezbollah and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Israeli security services have linked al-Mekdah to Iran's efforts to supply weapons to the West Bank.
