The Israeli military has accused Hezbollah of smuggling Iranian weapons from Syria into Lebanon using the official Masnaa border crossing. An Israeli military spokesperson claimed that Hezbollah is utilizing the civilian crossing, which is controlled by Lebanon, for military purposes, including the transfer of combat equipment. The IDF warned the Lebanese state, stating, 'We will not hesitate to act,' and is urging Lebanese authorities to inspect cargoes and turn back trucks carrying arms. The Masnaa crossing is a key passage between Lebanon and Syria, recently used by tens of thousands of civilians, mainly Syrians, fleeing conflict. Additionally, the IDF has attacked unofficial land border crossings between Syria and Lebanon previously used to transfer weapons to Hezbollah, prompting the group to concentrate efforts on using the Masnaa crossing.
