Islamist Preacher Anjem Choudary Found Guilty of Directing Terrorist Organisation, Faces Life in Jail

Islamist preacher Anjem Choudary has been found guilty at Woolwich Crown Court of directing the terrorist organisation Al-Muhajiroun and encouraging support for it through online meetings. Choudary, who has previously been jailed for pledging allegiance to ISIS, was convicted following an investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Met Police, NYPD, and RCMP. The 57-year-old preacher, who took a 'caretaker role' in the group, is now facing life in jail. Al-Muhajiroun is a banned group known for praising the 9/11 attacks and being linked to numerous plots around the world.
