VisitIRGC Announces Assassination of Hamas Leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran by Short-Range Projectile on August 3

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on August 3 that Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated in Tehran. According to the IRGC's third statement, the assassination was carried out using a short-range projectile with a warhead weighing about 7 kilograms, which caused a strong explosion. The projectile was fired from outside the guest accommodation area where Haniyeh was staying. The IRGC has attributed the operation to the Zionist regime, indicating that it was designed and supported by Israel. The IRGC also mentioned that a response against Israel is forthcoming.
