VisitIran Urges France to Probe December 14 Shooting of Two Iranians, Aged 19 and 30, in Migrant Camp
Dec 21, 2024, 09:32 AM
Iran has called on the French government to thoroughly investigate the killing of two Iranian men in an armed shooting in northern France on December 14. The incident resulted in the deaths of five people, including the two Iranians, aged 19 and 30, who were reportedly living in a migrant camp. The Iranian Foreign Ministry, through its Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary, and Expatriate Affairs, expressed condolences to the families and urged French authorities to probe the 'suspicious' attack, which they suspect may have been motivated by racism. The Iranian embassy in France has been in contact with French officials to demand the identification, prosecution, and punishment of the perpetrators. A 22-year-old suspect with no prior criminal record surrendered to authorities and was taken into custody on the same day.
