VisitIran Threatens Immediate Action, Including Advanced Centrifuges Activation, if IAEA Issues Resolution
Nov 20, 2024, 04:54 AM
Iran has threatened immediate and decisive action, including activating advanced centrifuges and injecting gas into them, if the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors issues a resolution against Tehran. Iranian officials, including Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and Nuclear Chief Mohammad Eslami, warned they would "respond before the ink of the resolution is dry." The United States and the E3 nations (Germany, France, and the United Kingdom) are planning to introduce such a resolution at the IAEA meeting, urging Iran to fulfill its obligations under the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Iran has cautioned Western countries against submitting the resolution, stating it "will not leave any act of aggression unanswered" and is "ready for both confrontation and cooperation." The statements were made during meetings with Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commanders and personnel.
