Iran's Pezeshkian Accuses West of Breaking Ceasefire Promise Over Haniyeh Assassination

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has accused the United States and European leaders of breaking their promise to deliver a ceasefire in Gaza. According to Pezeshkian, Western leaders assured Iran that a ceasefire would be reached if Tehran refrained from retaliating against Israel for the assassination of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh. Pezeshkian claims that Tehran fulfilled its part of the agreement by not responding militarily, but the promised ceasefire did not materialize. Pezeshkian described the promises as 'pure lies.'
