Iran's IRGC Hails Gaza Ceasefire as Palestinian Victory, Defeat for Israel

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has hailed the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in Gaza as a 'great victory' for the Palestinian resistance and a 'defeat' for Israel. The ceasefire, which is set to take effect on Sunday, involves the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. The IRGC's statement, shared by semi-official Tasnim news agency, emphasized that the ceasefire is a clear victory for Palestine and a significant setback for Israel, following 15 months of war. Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei also praised the Palestinian resistance for forcing Israel to 'retreat.' The agreement was mediated by Qatar and Egypt, with the U.S. playing a significant role in the negotiations. Iran's Foreign Ministry described the ceasefire as a 'historical victory' for Palestinians, who have endured what it referred to as one of the biggest acts of genocide in history.
