VisitIran's Araghchi Warns Israel: Retaliation If Attacked, 'Finger on the Trigger'
Oct 20, 2024, 11:38 AM
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned that any Israeli attack on Iran, particularly targeting its nuclear facilities, would be met with proportional retaliation against Israel's own nuclear sites. Speaking after meetings with Turkish officials, including President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Istanbul, Araghchi emphasized that Iran has identified all key targets in Israel and declared, 'Our finger is on the trigger.' Araghchi cautioned that a widespread conflict could draw the United States into a war that Iran does not seek but for which it is prepared. He added that Iran might reconsider its nuclear policies if attacked. Iranian military sources echoed these warnings, indicating that any Israeli assault on Iran's military or nuclear sites would prompt a severe response. Both Iran and Turkey called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon, agreeing on the necessity to stop Israel's actions in the region.
