VisitIran Executes Jewish Man Arvin Ghahremani, Also Known as Erwin Kahramani, Despite Self-Defense Claims
Nov 4, 2024, 07:10 AM
Arvin Ghahremani, also known as Erwin Kahramani, a twenty-year-old Iranian Jewish man, was executed by the Islamic Republic of Iran on Monday morning. Ghahremani was sentenced to death at the age of 18 for allegedly killing a Muslim man during a fatal street brawl in Kermanshah, western Iran. Human rights organizations and Jewish groups, including Iran Human Rights, had campaigned for clemency, arguing that Ghahremani acted in self-defense after being ambushed. Despite these appeals, Iranian authorities proceeded with the execution, which has heightened tensions with Israel. Critics have condemned the trial as taking place in a 'kangaroo court' and labeled the regime as 'antisemitic and apartheid.'
