Iranian state media has denied reports that Brigadier General Esmail Qaani, the commander of the Quds Force under the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Lebanese capital of Beirut. Various reports had suggested that Qaani was either injured or killed in the attack. However, Iraj Masjedi, the deputy commander of the Quds Force, stated that Qaani is in 'good health' and no further statement on the issue is needed. The speculation arose after Qaani was reportedly in Beirut last week, and his whereabouts had been unclear for several days.
