A tragic bus accident in Iran has resulted in the deaths of at least 28 Pakistani pilgrims and injuries to 23 others. The bus, carrying 53 Shiite pilgrims from Pakistan to Iraq, overturned and caught fire in central Iran's Yazd province. The pilgrims were traveling to the holy city of Karbala for the Arbaeen pilgrimage, a significant Shiite Muslim event. Local authorities reported that the crash was caused by brake failure and driver negligence. In response to the tragedy, Pakistan dispatched an aircraft to Tehran to repatriate the bodies of the deceased and transport the injured back home.
