VisitIran Brokers Secret Talks for Yakhont Missile Transfer to Yemen's Houthis, Threatens Red Sea
Sep 24, 2024, 08:52 PM
Iran has brokered ongoing secret talks between Russia and Yemen's Houthi rebels to transfer advanced anti-ship missiles to the militant group, according to three Western and regional sources. The missiles, identified as Yakhont anti-ship missiles, would enhance the Houthis' ability to strike commercial vessels in the Red Sea and pose a greater threat to U.S. and allied warships. Despite the facilitation by Iran, Moscow has yet to decide on the transfer of these missiles, according to Reuters and seven sources.
