Iran Arrests 14 Islamic State-Khorasan Members Planning Terror Attacks

Iran's Intelligence Ministry announced on August 23 that it has arrested 14 members of the Islamic State-Khorasan (IS-K), a branch of the IS militant group based in Afghanistan. These individuals entered Iran illegally with plans to carry out terrorist operations. The arrests took place in various locations, including the southern Fars Province. This development comes amid ongoing concerns about IS and IS-K activities in Iran, with past incidents such as a deadly twin bombing in southern Iran in January claimed by ISKP/ISISK, which resulted in 95 fatalities.
