Jun 4, 2024, 03:06 AM
Intel has officially unveiled its new Lunar Lake platform, featuring significant advancements in GPU and NPU performance, along with minor CPU enhancements. The Lunar Lake chips incorporate new P-Core (Lion Cove) and E-core (Skymont) architectures, and introduce the Xe2-LPG graphics. Notably, the platform includes a 48 TOPS NPU, promising substantial improvements in AI performance. The Lunar Lake chips are also expected to enhance battery life for Core Ultra processors. Additionally, the new design eliminates the need for memory sticks, marking a significant shift in Intel's approach to laptop chip architecture. Michelle Johnston Holthaus, Intel's client chip boss, highlighted these advancements at Computex 2024. The platform also includes Intel's Copilot+ AI PC chip.
