Inmate Jesus Villareal Escapes Huntsville Unit, Believed Heading to South Texas

Jesus Villareal, a 39-year-old inmate, escaped from the Huntsville Unit on Sunday morning. Authorities believe he used a makeshift rope to facilitate his escape before robbing a gas station and stealing a maroon Chevy Malibu with Texas plate BK7P566. Villareal was last seen at a nearby convenience store and is believed to be heading to South Texas. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) has released photos of Villareal and the vehicle. Authorities advise the public not to approach him and to contact law enforcement or call 1-800-832-8477 with any information.
