VisitIndyCar Confirms Historic Multiyear Media Rights Deal with Fox Sports, Ending NBC Partnership
Jun 13, 2024, 01:17 PM
IndyCar has confirmed a historic multiyear media rights deal with Fox Sports, starting in 2025. This agreement will see all 17 NTT IndyCar Series races, including the Indianapolis 500, broadcast live on the main Fox network. The deal marks the end of IndyCar's 16-season relationship with NBC, which began full-season coverage in 2019. Additionally, both days of Indianapolis 500 qualifying, as well as practice sessions and INDY NXT races, will be aired on FS1 or FS2. The new arrangement includes an unprecedented 19-network slot window for 2025, ensuring comprehensive coverage of the series. The 2025 schedule also introduces Thermal as a points race and moves the season end to Labor Day weekend. NBC expressed pride in its contribution to the growth of IndyCar, citing record viewership and best-in-class production during their tenure.
