Murray Sinclair, a distinguished Indigenous leader and former senator, has passed away at the age of 73. Sinclair, who was a member of the Peguis First Nation, served as the chief commissioner of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada. His work was instrumental in addressing the abuses suffered by Indigenous peoples in residential schools and promoting reconciliation. Sinclair's contributions to Indigenous justice and advocacy have left a lasting impact on Canada. He was also a judge and a senator, roles in which he continued to champion the rights and welfare of Indigenous communities. Sinclair died Monday morning.
