VisitIndia Signs Rs 32,000 Crore Deal with US for 31 General Atomics MQ-9B Drones, Sets Up MRO Facility

India has signed a deal with the United States to procure 31 MQ-9B Sea Guardian and Sky Guardian drones manufactured by General Atomics, worth approximately Rs 32,000 crore (around $3.3 billion). The deal, cleared by the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), includes 15 Sea Guardian drones for the Indian Navy and 16 Sky Guardian drones, with 8 each for the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force. This acquisition aims to enhance India's defense capabilities and modernize its military arsenal. The agreement also includes the establishment of a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility in India.
