VisitIndia's CCI Finds Apple Abused Position in Apps Market in June Report
Jul 12, 2024, 12:06 PM
India's antitrust body, the Competition Commission of India (CCI), has found that Apple engaged in abusive practices in the apps market. According to an internal report seen by Reuters, the investigation concluded that Apple exploited its dominant position in the iOS App Store, forcing developers to adhere to unfair terms, including the mandatory use of its in-app payment system. The findings are part of a June report, following three years of investigations. Apple has denied any wrongdoing, stating that it is a small player in India, where Google's Android system is more prevalent.
