India Removes Operative Linked to New York Assassination Plot of Gurpatwant Singh Pannun

The United States announced on Wednesday that India has removed an intelligence operative accused of directing an assassination plot on US soil. The individual, referred to as 'CC1', was allegedly involved in a foiled attempt to kill Gurpatwant Singh Pannun in New York, an advocate for a separate Sikh state. The US State Department confirmed that the Indian government has informed them that the accused is no longer in government service. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller and India's Ministry of External Affairs both confirmed the removal of the operative. The US expressed satisfaction with India's response.
