VisitIndia and China Agree to Restart LAC Patrolling Ahead of BRICS Summit, Says Foreign Secretary Misri
Oct 21, 2024, 09:55 AM
India and China have reached an agreement on patrolling arrangements along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), leading to disengagement and resolution of border issues that arose after the deadly Galwan clash in 2020. Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced on Monday that both sides have agreed to restart patrolling along the disputed border, including in friction points like Depsang and Demchok. The agreement was reached after several weeks of discussions between Indian and Chinese diplomatic and military negotiators and comes ahead of the upcoming BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia, where both countries are expected to participate.
