India has initiated the implementation of hybrid power projects on three islands off Jaffna, Sri Lanka, with an $11 million grant. The High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, Santosh Jha, handed over the first payment for these projects to Dr. Sulakshana Jayawardena, Secretary of the Ministry of Power and Energy, and the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority. The islands involved in the projects are Delft, Nainativu, and Analaitivu. This initiative is part of India's broader $4 billion support package to Sri Lanka, which includes credit lines and currency assistance, aimed at bolstering regional stability and economic recovery.
