India Among 60 Nations Abstaining from UNGA Vote on Resolution Against Russia

India has abstained from voting on a United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) resolution demanding that Russia cease its aggression against Ukraine and urgently withdraw its military. The resolution saw nine countries voting against it, while 60 countries, including India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, Egypt, Nepal, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and Sri Lanka, abstained. In total, 59 others abstained. India has emphasized the need for a peaceful settlement to the conflict but has avoided condemning Russia directly.
