VisitIncendiary Devices Destroy Hundreds of Ballots in Portland and Vancouver Drop Boxes
Oct 28, 2024, 03:27 PM
Authorities in Portland, Oregon, and Vancouver, Washington, are investigating ballot box fires that destroyed hundreds of ballots early Monday morning. Incendiary devices were used to ignite the ballot drop boxes, including one at Vancouver's Fisher's Landing Transit Center, where the last pickup was Saturday at 11 a.m. In Portland, the fire occurred at a ballot box outside the Multnomah County Elections office. Voters who dropped off ballots at these locations after 8 a.m. Sunday are urged to contact their local election offices immediately to obtain new ballots. Police are investigating the incidents as potential arson cases involving incendiary devices.
