Aug 11, 2024, 08:42 AM
Imane Khelif, an Algerian boxer and Olympic gold medalist, has filed a legal complaint in Paris against online harassment. The complaint, which cites aggravated cyber harassment, was filed with the Paris Prosecutor's Office on Friday following her victory in the women's welterweight boxing category at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Khelif, who has been at the center of a gender eligibility dispute, alleges that she has been subjected to misogynistic, racist, and sexist harassment online. Her lawyer confirmed the filing and stated that they intend to pursue the alleged perpetrators of what he described as a 'digital lynching.'
