Ilya Lichtenstein, the mastermind behind the 2016 Bitfinex hack, has been sentenced to five years in prison for his role in stealing and laundering over 119,000 Bitcoin, worth approximately $10.5 billion at today's prices. Lichtenstein's wife, Heather Morgan, known as 'Razzlekhan,' is due to be sentenced on November 18. The couple employed sophisticated laundering methods, including the use of crypto mixers and fake identities, to obscure the origins of the stolen cryptocurrency.
