VisitIDF Uncovers Hezbollah Munitions Depot, Foils October 7th Style Attack
Oct 27, 2024, 08:15 AM
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have uncovered a significant munitions depot in southern Lebanon, near the Israeli border. The stockpiles, intended for use by Hezbollah's elite Radwan Force, included rare Russia-made 9M131FM 'Metis-M1' thermobaric missiles, Iran-made SVD sniper rifles, stand-alone M203 grenade launchers, and YM-2 landmines. The IDF released footage showing an underground weapons bunker found by Golani Brigade troops, which stored anti-tank missiles, machine guns, assault rifles, and mortars. The discovery of these weapons, hidden in a forested and mountainous region, thwarted a planned October 7th style attack into Israel. IDF confiscated thousands of weapons.
