Oct 24, 2024, 07:11 PM
In a joint operation, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet eliminated Muhammad Abu Itiwi, a commander in the Hamas Nukhba Force's Al Bureij Battalion, during an airstrike in the Gaza Strip on October 24. Itiwi was involved in the October 7 attacks, leading the killing and kidnapping of Israeli civilians near Kibbutz Re'im and at the Nova music festival. He orchestrated the assault on a roadside bomb shelter on Route 232, where numerous civilians were hiding. According to the IDF, Itiwi had been employed by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) since July 2022, with employee ID number 10776948. The IDF has requested urgent clarification from senior UN officials regarding UNRWA employee involvement in the attacks.
