VisitIDF Intercepts Houthi 'Palestine-2' Missile Aimed at Ben Gurion Airport During Netanyahu's Return
Sep 28, 2024, 02:44 PM
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) intercepted a Palestine-2 ballistic missile launched from Yemen over central Israel on Saturday. The missile, fired by Yemen's Houthi fighters, triggered sirens across Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and surrounding areas, including Ben Gurion Airport. Explosions were heard over Jerusalem as the IDF used the Arrow air defense system to intercept the missile outside Israeli borders. No casualties or damage were reported. The Houthis claimed responsibility for the attack, stating they targeted 'Jaffa Airport, known in Israel as Ben Gurion', during the arrival of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from the United States. The group vowed to continue their attacks against Israel until its operations in Gaza and Lebanon cease. This marks the third Houthi missile launched towards central Israel in the past two weeks.
