VisitIDF Finds Large Troves of Russian Weapons in Hezbollah's Hands in Southern Lebanon
Nov 19, 2024, 09:34 AM
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have encountered significant quantities of Russian-made weapons during their operations in southern Lebanon, with reports indicating that 60-70% of the seized arms were of Russian origin. These weapons include modern Kornet antitank missiles, some of which were manufactured as recently as 2020, alongside older Soviet-era arms from the 1970s. The Wall Street Journal has reported that many of these weapons were transferred to Hezbollah via Syria, suggesting a direct link between Russian stockpiles and Hezbollah's arsenal. The discovery has confirmed longstanding suspicions in Israel that Hezbollah is enhancing its fighting capacity with sophisticated Russian arms.
