Oct 24, 2024, 06:24 PM
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have confirmed the elimination of Mohammad Abu Itiwi, a commander of the Hamas Nukhba Force, in an airstrike in the Gaza Strip. Itiwi was responsible for the massacre and kidnapping of Israeli civilians from a roadside bomb shelter near Kibbutz Re'im on October 7, 2023. The operation was conducted jointly by the IDF and Shin Bet. Itiwi, who was also an employee of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), led the attack on the bomb shelter on Route 232, resulting in numerous civilian casualties. He also commanded the force that murdered Israelis at the Nova Music festival. The IDF spokesperson, Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, announced the successful operation, highlighting Itiwi's dual role as a Hamas commander and a UNRWA staff member.
