The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have discovered and demolished a kilometer-long tunnel in central Gaza, believed to be used by Hamas militants. The underground passage was built beneath a civilian area and was located near several homes. Inside the tunnel, IDF troops found rooms, equipment, and weapons associated with Hamas operatives, suggesting it was designed for prolonged stays. The operation involved troops from the 5th Brigade, combat engineers, and elite units, who mapped and dismantled the tunnel network embedded near residential buildings.
