VisitIDF Destroys Hezbollah's 250-Meter Tunnel Near Border Intended for Oct. 7th-Style Attack
Oct 5, 2024, 05:53 PM
Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) units, including the Commando Brigade, elite Yahalom Unit, and the 98th Paratroopers Division, have conducted limited, targeted ground raids based on precise intelligence in southern Lebanon. They discovered and destroyed several Hezbollah tunnel shafts and underground weapons caches near the Israeli border. Among the findings was a 250-meter tunnel operated by Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force, located just meters from the border with Israel's Upper Galilee region. The tunnel, believed to be intended for carrying out attacks similar to the October 7th incident, contained command rooms and veteran terrorists prepared to attack Israeli territory. While the tunnel did not cross into Israeli territory, it posed a significant threat. Israeli special forces, including the Northern Command Combat Engineering Unit and the Yahalom Unit, sealed the tunnel with concrete. The IDF released footage of the operations, showcasing the raids and demolition of the tunnels and weapons caches.
