Sep 27, 2024, 03:53 PM
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have conducted a significant airstrike targeting Hezbollah's central headquarters in Beirut's southern suburbs. The IDF spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, confirmed that the strike was aimed at Hezbollah's main command and control center, which was located beneath residential buildings in the Dahiyeh neighborhood. The airstrike, described as precise, resulted in the destruction of six buildings. The IDF stated that the headquarters served as the epicenter of Hezbollah's operations and that the action was necessary to protect Israeli citizens. The targeted location is a known Hezbollah stronghold, and the operation involved the use of bunker-buster and 2,000-pound bombs. Reports indicate that the strike also aimed at Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
