IDF Announces Death of 19-Year-Old Sgt. Eyal Shynes, 316th Soldier Killed in Gaza

A soldier was killed during fighting in the southern Gaza Strip yesterday, the IDF announces. The slain soldier is named as Sgt. Eyal Shynes, 19, of the Nahal Brigade's 931st Battalion, from Kibbutz Afik. Shynes was killed in a Hamas sniper attack in Rafah. This marks the 316th Israeli soldier to die fighting Hamas in Gaza. Hamas has released footage showing its forces sniping Sgt. Eyal Shynes near the Shubaili Mosque, east of Rafah.
